Thomas’s Turning Point

These words come from Eliphaz, one of Job’s friends, who speaks a partial truth that reflects a timeless spiritual principle, that a person reaps what they sow. Although Eliphaz misapplied this idea to Job’s suffering, his statement still reveals an enduring truth about moral consequence. Sin and wickedness may seem fruitful for a time, but their harvest is always destruction. This verse reminds us that our choices have weight, and what we cultivate in the soil of our lives eventually comes to light.

For men today, this verse is a warning and a mirror. The seeds we plant through words, habits, and decisions will grow into something, either righteousness or ruin. When anger, pride, or deceit take root, they eventually bear the bitter fruit of broken relationships and regret. But when we sow humility, truth, and integrity, the harvest is peace, favor, and blessing. A man’s life is shaped not by his intentions but by what he plants daily.

The challenge is to be intentional about your soil. What are you planting with your time, your thoughts, and your actions? Choose to plow righteousness, to water it with prayer, and to let God bring the harvest. Every day is an opportunity to sow something eternal. The man who plants good seed in faith will never be disappointed by the harvest God brings.
