From Performance to Purpose is a raw and honest journey for men who feel like they’ve been doing all the right Christian things. Attending church, giving, serving, yet still sense a painful distance from God. This book confronts the quiet fear of being a “fake believer” and invites readers into something deeper: a living, breathing relationship with Jesus. Through powerful scripture, real-life stories, and soul-searching truth, men will discover how to move beyond performance-driven faith and embrace a purpose-filled walk with Christ that’s rooted in surrender, not show.

The Routine of Religion

In the life of many Christian men, the routine of religion often takes precedence over the pursuit of a genuine relationship with God. We fill our calendars with church services, volunteer work, and moral living, yet still find ourselves grappling with uncertainty about our faith. Jesus warns us in Matthew 7:21-23 that not everyone who says to Him, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but only those who do the will of the Father. This sobering truth should prompt us to examine whether we are merely going through the motions or truly engaging with Christ.

Many men have experienced this struggle, feeling trapped in the cycle of performance-based Christianity. One man, after years of attending church and participating in activities, realized that he had never truly known Jesus. His testimony reveals a turning point when he began to confront his spiritual apathy. By setting aside the facade of religion, he discovered the importance of authenticity in his faith. This journey of transformation is echoed in 2 Corinthians 13:5, where Paul urges believers to examine themselves to see if they are in the faith.
