Ephesians 4:31-32 (NLT)

Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

Paul’s words to the church in Ephesus highlight the battle within men’s hearts. Life can fill us with bitterness, anger, and harshness, emotions often hidden under a surface of strength. But Paul doesn’t stop at pointing out the struggle; he directs us toward transformation. God calls men to lay aside destructive responses and instead walk in forgiveness, kindness, and tenderheartedness.

For men today, this is a direct word to those carrying silent battles. Frustrations at work, family conflict, or personal regrets often weigh heavily, and it’s easy for anger to spill out. Yet scripture reminds us that we don’t have to be defined by those emotions. Christ has forgiven us, and in that forgiveness, we find the power to forgive and release others.

The truth is freeing: when the weight feels unbearable, we can cry out, “Jesus, help me.” He hears and He answers. Men don’t have to fight in silence or let hidden anger control them. God’s Spirit renews our hearts, equips us to walk differently, and replaces bitterness with peace.
