Galatians 6:9 NIV
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Doing good becomes hardest when it seems unnoticed. Paul does not deny weariness; he speaks to men already carrying it. The harvest belongs to God's timing, while today's faithfulness belongs to us. Keep showing up, keep serving, keep praying, and keep planting what is right. A delayed result is not proof that your work is wasted.
Scripture Explained
Paul closes his letter to the churches in Galatia by showing what life in the Spirit looks like in ordinary relationships. Believers restore one another gently, carry burdens, share what they have, and keep sowing what is good. Galatians 6:9 speaks directly to the fatigue that can grow inside a faithful man.
A farmer understands the distance between planting and harvest. Seed disappears into the ground long before any crop can be gathered. In the same way, a prayer, an act of service, a patient conversation, or a decision to do what is right may seem to produce nothing at first. God is still able to work beneath what you can see.
The promise of a harvest is not permission to demand a result on our preferred schedule. The proper time belongs to God. Our responsibility is today's faithful step. Paul does not shame weary people for feeling tired; he warns us not to let weariness become surrender.
Think About This
Weariness is not the same as unfaithfulness. A man can be tired because he has carried responsibility for a long time. The danger comes when disappointment convinces him that doing good no longer matters.
Some men quit outwardly. Others keep showing up while giving up inwardly. They become bitter, careless, distant, or hard. Galatians 6:9 calls you back to hope. The good you do in Christ is not measured only by the applause, progress, or immediate results you can see.
What Should I Do?
Name the good work you are most tempted to abandon. Is it praying for someone, rebuilding trust, serving your family, disciplining your habits, mentoring another man, or honoring God at work? Ask whether God is releasing you from it or whether discouragement is simply speaking loudly.
Choose the next faithful action instead of trying to solve the entire future. Make the call. Keep the promise. Finish today's responsibility. Offer the apology. Pray again. Small obedience repeated over time becomes a life of endurance.
Do not carry weariness alone. Tell a trusted Christian brother where you are losing heart. Let him pray with you, remind you of truth, and help you distinguish healthy rest from quiet surrender. Rest can restore faithfulness; isolation often drains it.
