Isaiah 60:1–2 (NIV)

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you.

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you.

In the Fog of Doubt

These verses were spoken by the prophet Isaiah to a people who had lived through devastation, exile, and despair. And yet, God says to them: “Arise, shine.” Why? Because His glory is rising upon them. Even though the world is covered in darkness, God’s light is breaking through—and He’s placing it on them.

For men who feel like they’re waking up in a dark world—whether it’s cultural chaos, family pain, or internal struggle—this verse is a wake-up call. God is saying: stand up, step out, and let My glory shine through your life. It’s not about pretending the darkness isn’t there—it’s about walking in the power of the Light.

Today’s charge: Get up. The world needs what God has placed in you.
