Psalm 121:1–2 (NIV)

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

My Help Comes from the Lord

These verses are a declaration of confidence in God’s power and presence. The psalmist looks to the mountains, a place often seen as a source of strength or refuge, but then acknowledges that true help does not come from nature, government, or human ability, it comes from the Creator Himself.

For men, this is a vital reminder in seasons of struggle. We often instinctively look to our own strength, our bank account, our connections, or our problem-solving skills. Yet this verse redirects our focus upward to the One who made heaven and earth, the One whose help is limitless and whose presence is unshakable.

Today, let your first response to challenges be to lift your eyes to God. Do not let fear or pride keep you from calling on Him. He is the Maker of everything you see, and He is the source of the help you need right now.
