Lack No Good Thing
David paints a vivid image here, a lion, the symbol of strength and self-sufficiency, still reaches a point of weakness and hunger. Even the strongest creatures on earth cannot meet every need by their own power. In contrast, those who seek the Lord will never be without what truly matters.
For men, this is a humbling reminder that our strength, skills, and drive have limits. We can have all the ambition in the world, but without seeking God, we will still come up empty in the areas that matter most, peace, purpose, and eternal security.
This verse calls you to reframe your definition of “lack.” God doesn’t promise you everything you want, but He promises everything you need. The man who seeks Him with his whole heart will discover that in Christ, nothing essential is missing.
